The focus will
be on data bases related to Europe and on non-European (in particular
Asian) countries in the period before 1914. Currrently data files concerning
prices and wages in the Netherlands, England, Italy, Sweden and the Ottoman
Empire are in the Internet. Similar data files concerning Singapore and
Indonesia will also be published in 2003. The Web site also has a large
number of links to sites with other data on historical prices and wages.
All data files will not only include the data themselves, but also descriptions
of the way in which they are constructed, the sources which are used,
and relevant publications in which the data are analyzed.
